ACTIVITIES & TIMELINE

Phase 1: Project Initiation and Analysis

The project begins with a formal kick-off meeting and the establishment of governance and coordination mechanisms. This phase includes a comprehensive analysis of existing legislation and institutional practices in Egypt, as well as a review of relevant international frameworks.

Phase 2: Stakeholder Engagement
This phase focuses on qualitative data collection through interviews, focus groups, and workshops with key stakeholders. These engagements aim to identify barriers faced by women in academia and to gather insights on necessary reforms.

Phase 3: Cross-National Learning
TASHREE will analyse successful international legislative and policy models, particularly from the UK. Workshops and field visits will facilitate knowledge exchange and collaborative learning between Egyptian and UK partners.

Phase 4: Policy Development and Dissemination
Drawing on research findings and stakeholder input, the project team will co-develop legislative recommendations and policy briefs. The project will conclude with a final regional conference in Egypt to present outcomes and advocate for reform

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

Improved Policy Framework (Long Term)
TASHREE is expected to contribute to enhanced higher education policies in Egypt that actively support and promote female representation in executive leadership roles.

The project will deliver comprehensive, research-based legislative recommendations that provide a clear and practical pathway for policy reform within the higher education sector.

The collaboration between Egypt and the UK will strengthen cross-national learning, enabling the adoption of best practices and innovative strategies for advancing gender equality in higher education.
